Please introduce yourself and your AZFA center.

Greetings to you and all dear viewers and listeners. I am Mahin Naz Mirdehghan Farshah, Associate Professor of Linguistics and President of the Center for Teaching Persian to Non-Persian Speakers of Shahid Beheshti University. In connection with the activities carried out in AZFA Center of Shahid Beheshti University, the activities of this center are significant in several areas. Of course, with this brief explanation that I have taken the responsibility of the center since July 2023, and everything that is reported during this past year and of course the results of my educational, research and executive records that have been in the past 21 years. The cases to be mentioned are: Extensive activity in preparing and compiling AZFA resources for general purposes and special purposes and for adult and kids. Publication of a collection of 4 skills titled Faraz Farsi for teaching Persian to non-Persian adult speakers in 12 volumes and in six levels: Basic 1, Basic 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Advanced 1, and Advanced 2. This collection consists of 2 books, student book, workbook and a teacher's book for each level and was published in Shahid Beheshti University in 2022 and is currently being taught in many AZFA centers inside and outside the country. We are working extensively in the field of teaching Persian language to Chinese speakers, in many areas needed in teaching Persian language in the world, we are preparing educational resources, such as the following: Teaching Persian language with short stories. Farsi with the Iranian series, teaching the skill of speaking the Persian language, one skill, learning reading skills for Arabic speakers (one skill) • In connection with the training, the following things are being implemented: o holding online courses and face-to-face courses, comprehensive courses and short-term planning courses A teacher training workshop based on Faraz Farsi sources has been conducted in October. The planning of the 4th international conference on teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers of Shahid Beheshti University has been carried out.

Please tell me that in order to make the Persian language the reference language in the field of science and knowledge, which is the strategic goal that the Islamic Republic and the Ministry of Science and our universities are seeking to achieve. In order to achieve this goal, what role does your center consider to make Persian the reference language of science in the world?

Indeed, language is the best tool for the spread of Iranian Islamic culture, and if we want our culture and language to spread in the world, we must make the best use of language, which is our best tool. I personally have done and am currently doing a lot of work in this field in the last 21 years. The things I mentioned earlier with special goals and with general goals in the form of educational resources and in the form of courses in the application will soon be available to interested people all over the world. We have to move in this direction with planning and definitely receiving support from the government in the form of reaching this goal will be very fast in this direction. We all want to spread Farsi and to achieve these goals, when our steps are accompanied by support, these steps will become a leap for the Persian language and our country in the world.

Thank you very much, please tell me what plans your center has for the attraction of this exhibition?

Mentioning a few points will help to answer this question: definitely, our cultural points and our literature are very attractive for foreigners. Of course, when we want to teach our literature, we must reach it through the passage of language. Our language learners must have reached a level where we can enter into literary topics and be able to teach them literature. So, using culture and literature in a proportional way is helpful. To create attractiveness for foreigners in various fields, our educational resources must be in harmony with international standards and have the required standard in terms of scientific content, leveling and attractiveness. The existence of diverse resources and the use of various modern technologies will be very beneficial for the Persian language, and all these, when combined with the promotion of our culture, can lead to the promotion of language and culture together. Based on this, it is very necessary to have appropriate resources in accordance with the global standard, to use the most up-to-date global technologies, to teach culture and language at the same time. Also, along with specialized educational resources, showing our culture in the form of cultural tours is very beneficial for language learners.

As a next question, what is the importance and necessity of participating in international events and international exhibitions for a Persian language learning center, and what will it bring to AZFA center if the right participation in international events and exhibitions takes place?

If this work is done with proper planning and that exhibition creates the possibility of interaction in different parts of the exhibition according to the talks, and foreign officials have the possibility to interact with the exhibitors who are in the center, the centers can interact directly with the officials who are from other countries. or other universities are marketing their booth products. If this is implemented, it can be very helpful, because it will help the discussion of marketing and marketing for different resources of the centers, and as a result, it will help to spread the Persian language.

Please tell me that for the first international exhibition of study attractions in Iran, which is going to be held in October in Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran, how will you be present, what items will you bring, or will you bring your own students to make it more attractive? What are your plans for attending the exhibition?

Yes, we will have a colorful presence. Considering the many resources that have been prepared and are being prepared in the center and I mentioned them at the beginning, God willing, we will be present with all these resources and I hope that together we can achieve the best results for the Persian language.
