Interview with the President of AZFA Center of Imam Reza International University



1- What is the role of attracting international students in transforming Persian language into the reference language of science?
The university is the origin and the most prominent center of knowledge and technology. In all the developed countries of the world, universities are known as the abode of knowledge and technology. This is also the case in Iran. Therefore, if the Persian language is supposed to become the language of science, first the production of knowledge at the global level should be done by Iranian researchers and it should wear the Persian language. Then, students and knowledge seekers will be attracted and knowledge transfer will be done in Farsi language, Azfa centers will be responsible for this important responsibility. I present an example. "Goethe" is a prominent German writer and is a well-known figure in German and European literature. Now there is a "Goethe Foundation" in Germany and one of the most prestigious literary awards in Germany is dedicated to the Goethe National Prize. Goethe became fascinated by Hafez's thoughts and attitudes and was so influenced by his thoughts that he decided to learn the Persian language and script. Later, Goethe Hafez is known to the world. This means the influence of thought in the development of the Persian language and its transformation into the reference language of science.
2- Does your university center have certain strategies to spread the Persian language and attract students?
The subject of attracting international students is separate from the discussion of Persian language teaching and each is subject to its own requirements. Imam Reza International University (AS) has a serious determination in the field of recruiting non-Iranian students of different nationalities, and taking into account the existing potential capacities, it has taken effective steps in this field and has achieved significant success in has had a past
In the discussion of the spread of Persian language, Imam Reza International University (AS) has been one of the fifteen leading universities in teaching Persian language to non-Persian speaking students in the last five years. This center started its initial activities in the field of setting up a Persian language training center in 2016 and in 2018 it received an official license from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The Persian language center of Shuaa University has expanded its functional scope based on the executive regulations approved by the university's board of directors, and it currently has favorable capacities for teaching Persian language to non-Iranian students and expanding it.
3- What should be done to increase the attractiveness of studying in Iran?
In my opinion, the Student Affairs Organization of the Ministry of Science should first introduce the model of a standard international university in Iran and help other universities to become an international university in all dimensions and in the real sense. Many Iranian universities lack the minimum infrastructure and capacities of an international university. As long as universities do not have a correct understanding of the concept of internationalization, they cannot be successful in attracting international students. The attractiveness of studying in Iran increases when an international student feels safe and comfortable in any way while studying in Iran and enjoys studying in Iran. If the universities try to attract international students without providing the minimum conditions, the efforts will not have results and the purpose will not be achieved.

4- What is the role of the exhibition in spreading the Persian language and realizing the authority of the Persian language?
International exhibitions can be effective in spreading the Persian language. The Persian language has a great capacity for development due to its strong literary support and phonetic and musical beauty. The exhibition, if it becomes a place for dialogue, consultation, interaction and synergy and the commercial and economic view does not dominate it, can provide suitable opportunities for this purpose.
5- What is your opinion about the international exhibition of educational attractions?
It is a pleasant event and if it is organized well, it can create opportunities. What is important is the quality of holding the exhibition and to what extent we can persuade the representatives of universities and scientific centers of other countries to attend it. The exhibition is not the only place to visit the political and cultural personalities of the countries, but managers and executives of companies and student sending agencies in different countries should have the opportunity to attend it. On the other hand, it is the full preparation of the country's universities, which should be able to leave a suitable and reliable image of themselves in the minds of the representatives of other countries by effective communication and showing their special charms.
6- What is the role of your center in holding and increasing the attractiveness of the exhibition?
Imam Reza International University (AS) tries to have a prominent and effective presence in the exhibition of study attractions in Iran, along with other universities of the country, and from the capacities and opportunities available in it, in interaction and synergy with other universities. The country's universities will benefit to the maximum.

7- How many students of your centers will participate in this exhibition?
Considering the distance between Mashhad and Tehran, it is not possible to send a large number of students. At the same time, we will try to have the participation of international university students in the exhibition.
8- What are the accessories and display items for the successful presence of an Azfa center in an international exhibition?
Due to the presence of non-Iranian visitors to the exhibition, the way of decoration and design and layout of the booths is very important. Another is multimedia materials in different languages ​​- centered on English and Arabic - and the use of exhibitors who are fluent in English and Arabic so that they can communicate effectively with visitors. The field of textual, graphic and visual products with the aim of introducing universities and their special attractions and points is also important.
