Interview with the President of Qom University of Technology



1. What does the internationalization of the University mean to you?

Our strategic vision for internationalization is to infuse international, intercultural, and global dimensions into the University's missions and functions. This deliberate approach not only fosters scientific exchanges and cultural dialogue but also enhances the University's global reputation and influence. The benefits of internationalization are manifold and significant, promising a future of enhanced global standing and enriched academic discourse.

2. What is the role of attraction in scientific authority?

Our investment in higher education not only enhances the country's soft power but also contributes to the training and empowerment of self-confident and entrepreneurial human capital. This creates a synergistic national and transnational scientific network. It's important to note that our actions are guided by the principles of the Islamic revolution, which mandate us to work towards the scientific authority of the country in the direction of Islamic civilization. This commitment is at the core of our internationalization efforts.

3. What effect do the policy and strategies of attracting international students have on the realization of authority and internationalization of the University?

The presence of international professors and students in universities plays a pivotal role in its branding. International students, in addition to enhancing the University's scientific reputation, also serve as our cultural ambassadors worldwide. It's important to note that the holy city of Qom is considered to be the world center of Ahl al-Bayt culture of innocence and purity and the cultural base of the Islamic world, and it plays a special role in the development of Islamic civilization.

4. Does your University have specific strategies for attracting students?

Policy-making and significant decisions related to international affairs, such as student recruitment, are made in a strategic council called the International Council at Qom University of Technology. The International Affairs Unit or the International Cooperation Office follows up on approved issues related to student recruitment in the International Council. The advertising and marketing process is also done in different ways, such as joint meetings with cultural affairs officers of embassies, higher education officials and heads of other universities, correspondence and letter writing with embassies and universities of different countries, advertising in cyberspace, cooperation with student recruitment companies between international and other related methods. One of our practical approaches to attracting international students is by providing good educational and welfare services to international students, who are our significant cultural assets; we try to use them as ambassadors of our capacities in other countries and societies.

5. What is the program and marketing of your University that attracts students?

Joint meetings with cultural affairs officers, officials of embassies and officials of higher education and presidents of international universities, correspondence and correspondence with embassies and universities of other countries, environmental advertising and online advertising, cooperation with international student recruitment companies, and others. Related methods include using the positive capacity of face-to-face advertising by students and international university students, giving scholarships to elite and talented students, and offering special discounts for registration in each course.

6. What should be done to increase the attractiveness of studying in Iran?

Using the capacities of virtual space in line with Jihad Tabbin, diversifying advertising, presenting the scientific progress of Iranian universities in international communities, using the experiences of successful international universities and institutions in the field of attracting students, using the propaganda capacity of students, or University's international learning course

7. What should be done to show and introduce the advantages and attractiveness of studying in Iran?

Maximizing the use of virtual space, expressing the experiences of international students about the benefits of studying in Iran, introducing the best international students and expressing the positive points that the universities have considered for them.

8- What is your opinion about the international exhibition of study attractions in Iran?

It is a very compelling exhibition in terms of showing and familiarizing the international capacities of the country's universities and higher education institutions. Undoubtedly, holding such exhibitions will attract more successful, faster, and cheaper international students.

9- What is your University's role in increasing the attractiveness of the exhibition? Do you have a program as a pre-event on the occasion of the exhibition in cooperation with the student affairs organization?

Qom University of Technology intends to enter this exhibition by showing the facilities and scientific and research capacities and successes achieved in this University in the form of clips, infographics and performance report booklets and help to hold this valuable scientific and cultural event as best as possible. slow

10- Your Excellency, to what extent will university students participate in this exhibition?

We plan to have international students at the university booth to make this exhibition as effective as possible.

We should ask for help introducing and promoting the university's capacities and letting the university officials have a supervisory role in this event. Interviews and live discussions with international students broadcast in the university booth are also attractive and will be followed.

11- What are your suggestions and ideas to increase the effectiveness and achievements of the exhibition?

It is better to express the scientific, research, and even cultural capacities of universities in this exhibition. The university officials should be present during the exhibition according to a particular schedule so that visitors can raise their questions and concerns with them face to face. Also, introducing successful international students who have found suitable work, financial, etc., positions in Iran or outside Iran after studying in Iran can be an effective measure.
