.Please introduce yourself
In the name of God, I am Davoud Pourmozaffari, the president of AZFA Center of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. Our center was officially opened in March 2016 and started working. During these few years, nearly 1000 people who are interested in learning Persian language, as well as international students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, have learned Persian language in this center.
What is the role of attracting international students in transforming Persian language into the reference language of ?science
First of all, I must say that theoretically every language has the ability to be promoted to the position of the language of science. Just as Arabic and Latin have been the languages of science in large parts of the world, and today other languages play this role, Persian language has the possibility, at least from a theoretical point of view, to become the language of science with purposeful planning and effort. The valuable effort that has been made in the last few years to attract international students and the attention paid to the diversity of international students' nationalities in Iran's universities has made our universities enter the international relations of science. If there is a conscious planning and it is continuous over time, at the same time with the technological advances that we are already at the first level in the world in some fields, we can also improve the position of the Persian language.
Does your university center have certain strategies to spread the Persian language and recruit students?
We follow two general policies. One is to increase the acceptance of international students, of course, taking into account some criteria to prevent the recruitment of weak people. In other words, we plan to increase the admission capacity and select talented people from among the applicants. Our second policy is to give more variety to the international students of the university and consequently the Persian learners in terms of nationality and geographical distribution. To achieve this goal, we have tried to gradually move in the desired direction through the conclusion of inter-university agreements.
What should be done to increase the attractiveness of studying in Iran?
In my opinion, two things should be pursued on a wide and effective level: one is advertising to introduce Iranian universities. The students of our universities are very high-quality in almost all fields at the undergraduate and even postgraduate levels. The fact that many Iranian students are accepted in prestigious European and American universities is a diagram of the strength of our universities. We can attract more enthusiasts by effectively introducing this advantage. The second task that should be widely and seriously paid attention to is overcoming Iranophobia and negative propaganda against our country. We have two ways to do this, one is to reflect the sense of satisfaction of international students living in Iran to people interested in studying in Iran, and the other is to strengthen Persian language courses abroad, which can draw the attention of foreigners to Iran and its rich culture by introducing our cultural richness. Attract and make negative advertisements less effective.
What is the role of the exhibition in spreading the Persian language and realizing the authority of the Persian language?
Holding this exhibition, which is one of the initiatives of the management course of Dr. Dadashpour and his hardworking and thoughtful colleagues, is the best way to slightly develop international student attraction and diversify it. When we are successful in these two areas, i.e. attracting a large number of students from diverse and wide geographical areas, the field of Persian language will automatically be realized. Holding exhibitions and developing connections between Iranian universities and universities in different countries, such as having fertile and high-quality land where the seeds of the Persian language grow well.
What do you think about the international exhibition of educational attractions?
Our Azfa center is going to participate in the exhibition for the first time. I have to postpone the evaluation until after the exhibition, but we really hope that we can use the opportunity created to diversify our international students. We hope to be able to get to know universities and students from different countries and convince them to study in our own university by introducing our capabilities.
What is the role of your center in holding and increasing the attractiveness of the exhibition?
Every university in the vast geography of Iran has unique attractions for the study and life of international students, which should be used to introduce the attractions of studying in Iran. Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz has a special advantage in terms of easy access for Iraqi students, which makes it very attractive especially for Iraqis working in their own country. In addition, the Arabic and Farsi bilingual environment of Ahvaz brings peace and security to students from Arab countries and those whose mother tongue is Arabic. It makes them feel less homesick and alienated. We try to show the attractiveness of studying in such an environment to those who are interested.
How many students of your centers will participate in this exhibition?
Personally, I would like to invite many students who have learned Persian well and are well acquainted with life in Ahvaz and Khuzestan to the exhibition so that they can represent us more than before, but I still do not know exactly what facilities and assistance are available for our students to attend. will have. I request the organization to give facilities to universities in cities far from Tehran so that they can have a strong presence in this regard.
What are the accessories and display items for the successful presence of an Azfa center in an international exhibition?
We are currently in the market to have an effective and useful presence in the exhibition by introducing the capabilities of Azfamon University and Center. Introducing the cultural and linguistic atmosphere of Ahvaz, the tourist attractions of Khuzestan, the works and compositions of Azfa center teachers in the form of books, films, brochures, etc. will be among our exhibition items.
